Observation: Round 4 of Opetaia vs Cinkara Ended One Minute Early

Jai Opetaia, Huseyin Cinkara / 7NEWS

On December 6 in Australia, local 30-year-old cruiserweight world champion Jai Opetaia made his third title defense of 2025. His opponent was the then 40-year-old undefeated German challenger Huseyin Cinkara.

The fight didn’t start easily for Opetaia — in Round 2 the challenger nearly dropped him. But for the rest of the bout, Jai largely controlled the action and won rounds, despite later giving a harsh assessment of his own performance that night.

One of Ready to Fight’s key features is detailed fight statistics. Our team of boxing experts and judges counts total punches, landed shots, power-punch output, and other key indicators for each bout.

While counting punches for Opetaia vs Cinkara, it was noticed that Round 4 ended earlier than it should have. In the screenshot, you can see the final second on the timer right before the bell. After that, the signal to end the three-minute round sounded, and the boxers returned to their corners without working an additional minute of time.
