Former two-division world champion Lawrence Okolie has commented on the possibility of a potential fight against rising prospect Moses Itauma.
“We’ve been ordered to fight a final eliminator for the world title, so two Nigerians will step into the ring. It’s going to be incredible.
Will the fight take place in Nigeria? Yes, that’s exactly where we want it. We’re already in talks. Obviously Moses has to come through his fight first, and then everything will be ready,” Okolie said.
On 21 December, Lawrence Okolie (22-1, 16 KOs) scored an inside-the-distance win over Ebenezer Tetteh — after a knockdown in the second round, the Ghanaian boxer refused to continue.
On 24 January in Manchester, UK, Moses Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) will face Jermaine Franklin.
