Lou DiBella on the Ali Act: “I Support the Collapse of the System”

American promoter Lou DiBella has expressed support for possible amendments to the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act.

“To be honest, I don’t really care much about all these changes to the Ali Act, because all of this will finally help bring down this completely corrupt system. It’s wrong to call this bill (with the preliminary amendments) the ‘Ali Act.’ In reality, it was not conceived to help the fighters. It was conceived to help the TKO Group.

The amendments will only affect the biggest star fighters who will be under contract with TKO. But, on the other hand, they may help the contenders and opponents.

I support the collapse of the system and its complete restructuring. Because the boxing I loved… the boxing I grew up with has already been destroyed by this system. And all that old guard (that has been running boxing all this time) does not deserve protection, does not deserve to be preserved.

If Muhammad Ali were alive, he wouldn’t like the new act. But, on the other hand, he also wouldn’t like the four organizations that run boxing. And he wouldn’t like the existence of eight belts in every weight class,” said DiBella.
