Krassyuk on Usyk’s Possible Retirement: “He’ll Definitely Get My Vote”

Oleksandr Krassyuk, former promoter of undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, shared his thoughts on the Ukrainian’s future in the sport.

“I have no idea what he’s going to do. The only thing I am certain of, after our latest conversation, is that he will make that decision himself. Most likely, he’ll look at the options and choose his next step. But I assured him: if he ever needs a voice in favor of retirement — he will definitely get mine.”

Speaking on a potential fight between Usyk and interim WBO champion Fabio Wardley, Krassyuk noted:

“I can’t say that His Excellency (Turki Alalshikh) is interested in this fight — we haven’t discussed it. I can only assume that the UK is unlikely to be considered as the place for it, if this fight ever happens at all.”

On October 25, Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KO) defeated Joseph Parker (36-4, 24 KO) by 11th-round TKO. The WBOhas ordered Usyk (24-0, 15 KO) to make a mandatory defense against the winner — which means Wardley is now the official challenger.
