Saudi entertainment chief Turki Alalshikh has announced that WBC Super Flyweight champion Jesse Rodriguez (21-0, 14 KO) is slated to face WBA title-holder Fernando Martinez (18-0, 9 KO) in a unification bout this November.
The fight is set to join an already stacked Riyadh Season bill that features:
– David Benavidez vs Anthony Yarde – WBC Light Heavyweight title
– Brian Norman vs Devin Haney – WBO Welterweight title
– Abdullah Mason vs Sam Noakes – vacant WBO Lightweight title
The Rodriguez-Martinez showdown hinges on Rodriguez first coming through his 19 July defence against WBO champion Phumelele Cafu; victory would put three of the four recognised belts on the line at 115 lb.
Rodriguez last boxed in November 2024, stopping Pedro Guevara in three. In May, Martinez retained his strap by outpointing Kazuto Ioka in their rematch.
