Insider Names Possible Contenders for Gervonta Davis’ Belt

The World Boxing Association (WBA) has decided on options for the vacant Lightweight title fight after Gervonta Davis was stripped of the belt. The boxer has not entered the ring since March and is currently being sought due to the assault of an ex-girlfriend, for which reason the 31-year-old American was granted the status of “champion in recess.”
According to insider Dan Rafael, the organization is considering two possible pairs of contenders. The main option is a bout between WBA number one Floyd Schofield (19-0, 13 KOs) and number two Lucas Bahdi (20-0, 15 KOs).
The alternative scenario provides for a duel between Schofield and the number four in the ratings Lamont Roach (25-1-3, 10 KOs). It is between these two options that the WBA is choosing to determine the new belt holder.
It is expected that in the near future the WBA will officially announce which pair will be approved for the fight for the vacant title and when this bout might take place.
