Hearn Evaluates the Possibility of a Joshua – Wilder Fight: “It’s Not in Our Plans”

Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn evaluated the possibility of a showdown between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder in 2025.

This is a huge fight. Honestly, it’s not one of the bouts we're targeting. The two fights we are aiming for right now are Tyson Fury and the winner of the Dubois–Parker clash.

But if we can’t secure one of those, we’ll fight someone else. If I’m asked who he (Joshua, ed.) could potentially face, I’d mention: Deontay Wilder, Martin Bakole, the winner of the Kabael–Zhang bout, Dilian White. I can’t say for certain, but these are the names that interest us.

I’m not entirely sure, but Turki Alalshikh has talked about Deontay Wilder. So if Fury is truly retired and we, for some reason, can’t fight the winner of the Dubois–Parker fight, we’ll turn our attention to such a bout,” Hearn explained.

Joshua hasn’t stepped into the ring since his loss to Daniel Dubois in the fall of 2024.
