Frank Warren: “Wardley said he wants Usyk — so that’s what happens”

Frank Warren, head of Queensberry Promotions and promoter of newly crowned WBO interim heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley, shared his thoughts on a potential fight between his fighter and the division’s undisputed king Oleksandr Usyk.
“He said he wants Usyk – so that’s what will happen. He’s absolutely right when he says a fight lasts 36 minutes, but he only needs one second – and he keeps proving that again and again.
I sat there in awe, watching a boxer with no amateur background, who has had only 20 professional fights, go out there and beat a former world champion. Ipswich can be proud of him. It was a phenomenal performance.

On October 25, Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) stopped Joseph Parker (36-4, 24 KOs) by 11th-round TKO. The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has ordered Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) to make a mandatory defense against the winner of that fight.
