Ex-Champion Names Two Fighters More Deserving of a Dubois Fight Than Joshua

British former champion Carl Froch questions whether the discussed rematch between IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois and former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is relevant. He believes there are two names more deserving of a title shot.

“Daniel Dubois is now the rightful IBF world champion. The title was gifted to him, I called him a paper champion, but he beat two-time world champion AJ, so he’s earned his laurels. Dubois put on a brilliant performance and dismantled Joshua.

A rematch with Anthony is a big-money fight, but does Joshua deserve it? Dubois will dream about it, but does Joshua deserve it? I think there are others in line who deserve it more—Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang,” Froch said.

Dubois knocked out Joshua in the 5th round, marking his first successful title defense. According to Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn, they plan to pursue a rematch.
