The adviser of former IBF Heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, Sam Jones, believes that his fighter does not need any interim or warm-up bouts — he is ready to return straight into title contention after his recent defeat.
“We are open to any fight that brings Daniel Dubois closer to a world title. That is what he wants most. There will be no tune-up fights — he is 28 years old, and he just fought for the undisputed championship, so he is coming right back, without warm-ups,” Jones said.
In his most recent fight, Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) was knocked out by Oleksandr Usyk in the 5th round. The IBF has sanctioned a Heavyweight eliminator between Dubois and Frank Sanchez.
