Diego Pacheco: “After I beat Sadjo, they won’t be able to ignore me anymore”

Diego Pacheco, Kevin Lele Sadjo / Matchroom Boxing

24-year-old super middleweight Diego Pacheco shared his expectations for the fight against Kevin Sadjo. The American expressed hope that a potential victory in this matchup will help him earn a world title shot in 2026.

“After this win, they won’t be able to ignore me anymore. I’m here. And I feel like Eddie Hearn and my promotional team could be doing a better job promoting me and making big fights happen for me. So hopefully next year all of that will happen.

I told him (Eddie Hearn — ed.) about it, I think, two years ago. And basically I was told they’d do everything possible to make those fights. But we can’t force those guys to fight you. And I thought: ‘Okay, I get that. But I’m ready and I’m 100 percent willing to fight anyone in the division.’

The thing is, a lot of them (potential opponents — ed.) see me as high risk and low reward. I understand that. But like I said, it’s getting to the point where I can’t be ignored anymore. A spectacular win on December 13 will definitely open the door to big fights.

If everything goes well against Kevin Lele Sadjo, I’ll say it was a good year. Considering that in my first two fights this year I went the full distance, I feel like that gave me a lot of experience and taught me a lot about myself. A strong performance on December 13 will be a real exclamation point and let me finish the year in a great way, hoping for an even bigger 2026 — with bigger fights and, hopefully, world title fights,” Pacheco said.

The fight between Diego Pacheco (24-0, 18 KOs) and Kevin Sadjo (26-0, 23 KOs) will take place on the night of December 14 in Stockton, California, USA.
