Christian Mbilli Becomes Full WBC Super Middleweight Champion

During the World Boxing Council (WBC) “Martes de Café” press conference, it was officially announced that French boxer Christian Mbilli has been elevated from the status of interim titleholder to world champion in the Super Middleweight division.

Mbilli received the belt from the hands of WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán.

“You are a champion we are incredibly proud of. Christian has been a part of our organization for a long time; he was the WBC Continental Americas champion, making 9 successful defenses before becoming the interim champion. You and Lester Martinez put on a spectacular fight — the best of 2025. On this occasion, we are honored to present you with the ‘Fight of the Year’ trophy and the belt of the full world champion in the Super Middleweight division,” stated Sulaimán.

“I want to thank the WBC. I am very happy to be here in Mexico City and fulfill a childhood dream — to possess the full green and gold title. I also want to thank my promoter Camille Estephan for all the support he has given me,” said Mbilli.

30-year-old Christian Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs) last entered the ring in September against Lester Martinez. The fight ended in a split decision draw.
