“An Exciting Spectacle”: Arum Names a Thrilling Opponent for Canelo

Top Rank’s head promoter Bob Arum is confident that a fight between WBA, WBO, and WBC super middleweight champion Saúl Álvarez and WBC Continental Americas and WBA International champion Christian Mbilli would be nothing short of spectacular.

“Christian Mbilli is currently the number one contender for both the WBC and WBA titles in the super middleweight division, which belong to Saúl Álvarez.

A fight between Mbilli and Canelo in May would be an extremely exciting spectacle because Mbilli is a versatile puncher,” Arum said.

Recently, Mbilli surpassed Edgar Berlanga in the WBA rankings, becoming the top contender for Álvarez’s title. This happened after Christian’s victory over Sergiy Derevyanchenko, and following Canelo’s decision win over Berlanga in their previous fight.
