Anthony Joshua Confirms Working With Usyk’s Team

Former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua has confirmed that he is currently working with the team of unified WBA, WBC, IBF and IBO champion Oleksandr Usyk. Joshua also clarified that he is not training under coach Ben Davison at this stage.

“No, Ben Davison will not be training me. I said that London distracts me a bit, so Usyk’s team invited me to train with them. I’ve been in Spain — we had great sessions there. He is one of the best in the world, and it’s not just him — the team around him plays a huge role.

So I joined them and got an understanding of how someone reaches that level — it’s phenomenal. It was a great and very tough experience.

How long have I been training with Usyk’s team? A few months already. I’m not sparring with Usyk. He’s training somewhere else right now. He was in camp, but he comes and goes — currently he’s training in another place,” Joshua said.

On December 19, Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KO) will face influencer-boxer Jake Paul in Miami.

In July, Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KO) knocked out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round to become the undisputed heavyweight champion for the third time.
