Warren Reveals Who Awaits Usyk–Dubois 2 Winner: “There’s a Clear Name”

Queensberry Promotions chief Frank Warren has confirmed that the winner of the July 19 rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium will be obligated to defend the WBO title against Joseph Parker.

“The WBO has officially ruled that the winner must make a mandatory defense against their No. 1 contender — and that’s Joe Parker,” said Warren.

“And that’s a terrific fight.”

Warren addressed Parker’s situation following the cancellation of his planned bout with Dubois earlier this year, stating the Kiwi is now in an even stronger position:

“Some might think Joe’s upset he’s not facing Daniel now — but he’s getting a shot at all four belts.

Whoever wins — and I hope it’s our guy — Parker will fight for the undisputed title. He’s in a better position than before.”

Warren also revealed that Derek Chisora is next in the queue after Parker:

“Derek’s been informed as well. He’s in a great spot — after Parker, he’s next, according to the sanctioning bodies.

They’re all in winning positions.”

The promoter praised the quality of current heavyweight matchups:

“How great is it that these fights are happening? No stay-busy bouts. No easy touches.

They’re fighting the very best in the heavyweight division.

On July 19, two of the top active heavyweights in the world will face off at Wembley.

These are the elite of the elite in the king of all weight classes.”

With Joseph Parker set as the next challenger and Derek Chisora waiting in the wings, the road beyond Usyk vs. Dubois II is already paved with top-tier action. And with Tyson Fury expressing interest in a trilogy.
