Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn React to Their Sons' Fight in London

On April 26, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, United Kingdom, a middleweight clash (limit: 72.57 kg) unfolded between Chris Eubank Jr. (35-3, 25 KOs) and Conor Benn (23-1, 14 KOs).

The fight went the full distance, ending with Eubank Jr. winning by unanimous decision. All three judges scored it 116-112 in favor of Chris.

Special attention was given to the fathers of both fighters — Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn, who famously fought twice in the 1990s. Their first meeting ended with a stoppage victory for Eubank Sr., and the rematch resulted in a draw. After the winner was announced, both fathers shared their emotions about their sons' battle.

Chris Eubank Sr. praised his son's performance, highlighting the courage and resilience shown by both fighters:

Chris couldn’t move around the ring, so he had to stand and fight inside. That’s legendary behavior in the ring. Legendary.

As I said, Conor Benn is an extraordinary fighter. Somewhere along the way he went off course, but he’s still an incredible fighter, and you saw that tonight. He wanted to tear through his opponent, and I thought he’d gas out after four or five rounds, but he stayed strong the whole way.

I’m extremely proud of Chris. He’s my son. That’s why I’m here. I always had to be here,” said Eubank Sr.

In turn, Nigel Benn praised Conor’s progress and said his team already knows what needs improvement:

I’m so happy Chris Sr. is here. I wanted him here from the start. This is a family affair.

I believe Conor performed very well. He learned a lot from this experience. He’ll come back even stronger. I don't want to take anything away from Chris — this was his night. We know how to lose with dignity. Now we go back to planning — and we know exactly where the mistakes were,” said Benn Sr.
