Crawford: “Ennis and Ortiz Had Their Chance to Fight Me”

Undisputed Super Middleweight champion Terence Crawford has addressed the comments coming from potential opponents who are now expressing interest in facing him.

“Ennis had a chance to fight me. Ortiz had a chance to fight me. And now everybody’s saying: ‘Oh, I would’ve agreed to fight Crawford. I would’ve done this, I would’ve done that.’

So what does that mean? When you had the opportunity — you turned and went the other way. And now, when you see me as your golden ticket, suddenly everyone’s ready: ‘Yeah, we want to fight Terence Crawford.’ That’s the narrative,” Crawford said.

On September 13, Terence Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) defeated Canelo Alvarez by unanimous decision, becoming the first fighter in the four-belt era to become an undisputed world champion in three different weight divisions.
