“This is something Joshua hasn’t faced before.” Expert believes Fury’s style will cause problems for Anthony

Former world champion Amir Khan shared his thoughts on a potential ring return for Britain’s Tyson Fury to face fellow countryman Anthony Joshua.

“Fury is a very unorthodox fighter. He has the size, the movement, he can switch stances, his shots come from every possible angle. That’s something Joshua hasn’t dealt with. That’s why Tyson will cause AJ a lot of problems, because Joshua is a more straightforward boxer.

And Fury is the more elusive fighter. That style, in my opinion, will create huge difficulties for Joshua. I’ve always said one thing about Fury: he’s a warrior. He always comes to fight and always puts in a worthy performance. He knows when he needs to step it up — and he can do that at any moment. Regardless of whether he’s been active or out of the ring for a long time, he’s the kind of guy who can still deliver a good fight,” Khan said.

On 19 December, Anthony Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) defeated Jake Paul (12-2, 7 KOs) by knockout in the sixth round, breaking the American’s jaw in two places.

In 2024 Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk and announced his retirement. However, the former world champion has repeatedly hinted at a comeback, with Joshua viewed as one of the most likely opponents.
