On the night of September 28 at Zalgiris Arena in Kaunas, Lithuania, former world champion Eimantas Stanionis (16-1, 9 KOs) faced South Africa’s Jabulani Makhense (16-3, 8 KOs) in a Super Welterweight bout (154 lbs / 69.9 kg).
The fight went the full 10 rounds, with Stanionis earning a unanimous decision. Judges scored it twice 99-91 and 100-90 in favor of the Lithuanian.
This marked Stanionis’ first fight since the lone defeat of his career — a unification bout at Welterweight against Jaron Ennis, where his corner stopped the fight after six rounds.
Jabulani Mahenge had previously stopped Charles Manyisi in the first round this past June.
