British Super Middleweight boxer Hamzah Sheeraz has shared his thoughts on a possible clash with either Mexican star Saul Alvarez or newly crowned undisputed champion Terence Crawford.
“I can still fight Canelo. Although I don’t know if he’ll agree to a fight as early as February. I just want a chance to fight for the titles. Right now they’re with Crawford. If he stays in this division, I’ll fight him.
I don’t see a reason for Terence to move down. There are no big fights for him at Middleweight. Even at Super Welterweight — that’s unlikely. I’d be one of the biggest fights for him,” said Sheeraz.
On the night of September 14, Terence Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) defeated Canelo Alvarez (63-3-2, 39 KOs) by unanimous decision to become the first fighter in the four-belt era to claim undisputed titles in three different weight divisions. Hamzah Sheeraz (22-0-1, 18 KOs) is the WBC’s mandatory challenger at Super Middleweight. In July, the Brit scored a fifth-round knockout over Edgar Berlanga.
