Shakur Stevenson Spoke About Sparring with Jake

WBC Lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson spoke about working with Jake Paul. They sparred while the American was preparing for a fight against Gervonta Davis, which subsequently fell through.

Later, Paul agreed to a showdown against former Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. The fight will take place on December 19 in Miami, USA.

“We actually sparred. I went down there and we did what, six, seven rounds? We got in the ring and sparred.

Jake is better than people give him credit for. A lot of people don’t think he’s a good boxer because he started so late. There’s no telling how good he could have been if he started earlier, but you can tell he takes his craft seriously, goes to training camps, and has the right team and coaches around him. He’s better than you’d think.

I was definitely impressed. I was surprised. You’d think this dude from YouTube doesn’t know anything, but he had a good coach telling him the right things, and he was listening to the right things. He’s a decent fighter in his own right, just not the best.

But there’s no way AJ lets Jake win this fight,” said Stevenson.
