Shakur Stevenson: “I Think Teofimo Is Crazy”

WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson reacted to the behavior of his future opponent, WBO junior welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez, during their first press conference.

“I think something is mentally wrong with him. I don’t think he’s all there in the head. I think he’s crazy. That’s my opinion. I really believe he’s genuinely crazy.

Something is clearly off with him, but that makes him dangerous. The most dangerous guys are the people who are delusional — crazy dudes who want to be the best and are chasing their place in greatness. So I respect that, but something is definitely not right with him,” Shakur said.

Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs) and Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) will meet on January 31 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, USA. On the line will be the WBO and The Ring titles at junior welterweight, currently held by Teofimo.
