On the night of January 11 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, USA, a boxing card took place headlined by a fight for the WBC super lightweight world title (up to 63.5 kg / 140 lbs) between Puerto Rican Subriel Matias (23-3, 22 KOs) and Britain’s Dalton Smith (19-0, 14 KOs).

The bout ended inside the distance: in the fifth round Smith, after a sustained offensive, sent Matias to the canvas. The Puerto Rican got up, but the referee decided to stop the fight — TKO 5.
