The World Boxing Association (WBA) has announced the mandatory challenger for the welterweight title held by 30-year-old American Rolando Romero.
The WBA ordered Romero to face Shakhram Giyasov (17-0, 10 KOs). Both camps have until November 13 to reach an agreement, after which a purse bid will be scheduled if no deal is finalized.
Earlier, Manny Pacquiao’s team expressed interest in facing Romero. In his previous bout, Rolando (17-2, 13 KOs) defeated Ryan Garcia by decision.
