Ramon Cardenas to Return on December 19

29-year-old super bantamweight Ramon Cardenas is set to return to the ring at the end of the year. The news was confirmed by the fighter’s promoter, Samson Lewkowicz.

Cardenas will headline a ProBox event scheduled for December 19 in Fort Lauderdale, USA. His opponent will be Eric Robles Ayala of Mexico.

Ramon Cardenas (26-2, 14 KOs) last fought in May against the undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue, where he was stopped by technical knockout in the 8th round — though Cardenas did manage to drop Inoue in the second round, making him one of the very few to score a knockdown on the pound-for-pound star.

In March, Eric Robles Ayala (16-3, 10 KOs) lost a unanimous decision to Jesús Eduardo Valdez. He has secured just one win in his last three fights.
