Golden Boy Promotions founder and CEO Oscar De La Hoya has taken aim at the upcoming bout between Mexican WBA, WBC, and WBO super middleweight champion Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez (61-2-2, 39 KOs) and Puerto Rican Edgar Berlanga (22-0, 17 KOs).

"We're about to witness a boxing match that nobody asked for, and everyone will be watching UFC that night instead.

The Canelo-Berlanga fight is just another boring show. They're trying to sell PPV for $90, with ticket prices starting at $500. Paying for yet another meaningless Canelo fight that always goes the full distance against a mediocre opponent is just robbery," Oscar stated.

Saúl Álvarez and Edgar Berlanga are set to meet on September 14 in Las Vegas, USA. On the same night, UFC 306 will take place in Vegas as well.
