It has been officially announced that WBO and IBF middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly will face WBA titleholder Erislandy Lara in a unification bout at 160 lbs.
The fight will take place on December 6 in San Antonio, USA, serving as the co-main event alongside the bout between Isaac Cruz and Lamont Roach for the interim WBC title at super lightweight. The event will be broadcast on Amazon Prime via PPV.
In April, Janibek Alimkhanuly (17-0, 12 KOs) stopped Anauel Ngamissengue by technical knockout in the fifth round.
Erislandy Lara (31-3-3, 19 KOs) last fought in September 2024, when he defeated Danny Garcia — Garcia’s corner refused to allow him to continue after the ninth round.
