Ngannou on possible fight with Jake Paul: “Don’t disrespect me”

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou says he found it disrespectful that he was offered to replace WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis in a bout against influencer and heavyweight boxer Jake Paul.

“How do you go from Gervonta Davis to Francis Ngannou? That doesn’t make any sense. I was surprised and thought: ‘No, brother, come on. Don’t disrespect me.’ I’m not interested,” Ngannou said.

Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KO) was scheduled to face Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KO) on November 14, but due to Davis’ latest legal troubles — he is accused of violent assault and kidnapping his former girlfriend — the fight may not take place.
