Naoya Inoue: “There is no chance my belts are going to Mexico with Picasso”

Naoya Inoue / Mark Robinson, Matchroom Boxing

Undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue has shared his expectations for the upcoming clash with Mexico’s David Picasso.

“This fight will be extremely important for my future, and the way I perform will be crucial for becoming the No. 1 pound-for-pound. So I’m going to give one hundred percent.

I promise you: there is not a single chance my belts are going to Mexico with him. This is a key fight at super bantamweight that you will see on Saturday. I’m ready. All the Japanese fighters here are at a very high skill level and have a very strong mentality. That’s been proven, and we’re all going to put on good fights and plan to go back home with convincing victories,” Inoue said.

The fight between Naoya Inoue (31-0, 27 KOs) and David Picasso (32-0-1, 17 KOs) will take place on 27 December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Full start times and the complete undercard can be found via the link.
