Liam Paro Outboxes David Papo

At Pat Rafter Arena in Sydney, Australia, local fighter Liam Paro (27-1, 16 KOs) faced France’s David Papo (30-1-1, 5 KOs) in an IBF welterweight (66.7 kg) eliminator.

The fight went the full 12 rounds, with Paro earning a unanimous decision: 117-111 and 116-112 twice in favor of the Australian.

In June, the 29-year-old Paro stopped Jonathan Navarro after the opponent’s corner retired following the fifth round.

David Papo last fought in November, scoring a seventh-round knockout win over Josh Wagner. The defeat to Paro marked the first loss in the 34-year-old Frenchman’s career.
