WBA middleweight champion Erislandy Lara has commented on his upcoming unification bout against WBO and IBF titleholder Janibek Alimkhanuly.
“Throughout my career, I have fought the very best — and this fight is no exception. Janibek is a strong and skilled opponent, but I have never avoided challenges.
On December 6, I will become the unified middleweight champion of the world and take another step toward the Hall of Fame,” Lara said.
The Alimkhanuly vs. Lara unification bout will take place on December 6 in San Antonio, Texas, and will be broadcast via Amazon Prime PPV.
Erislandy Lara (31-3-3, 19 KOs) last entered the ring in September 2024, stopping Danny Garcia after Garcia’s corner refused to continue following the ninth round.
In April, Janibek Alimkhanuly (17-0, 12 KOs) defeated Anaueyl Ngamissengue by fifth-round TKO.
