Thurman Wants to Remind Everyone Why He’s Called "One Time" in Fight Against Fundora

Former welterweight champion Keith Thurman has revealed the specific outcome he is targeting in his upcoming clash against WBC super welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora.

“I’ll have 12 rounds to figure this kid out. You know, I want to remind people why they call me Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman. I am definitely looking for the knockout.

And you know how it is. People have short memories, baby. I’m going to create a new highlight, and then everyone will just say, ‘Yo, look at what Thurman just did!’ And that’s all that matters.

So, it’s like asking Babe Ruth to step up to the plate and hit another home run. Okay. Do you know how many home runs I’ve already hit? All I have to do is hit one more. That’s all the motivation I need, man,” Thurman said.

Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs) and Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs) were originally scheduled to meet in 2025, but the bout was postponed after Sebastian suffered a hand injury. The confrontation is now expected to take place in early 2026, potentially as part of a major card in Las Vegas.
