Oleksandr Krassyuk on the Klitschko brothers: “We are partners, we are friends”

Promoter Oleksandr Krassyuk spoke about his relationship with former heavyweight world champions Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko.

– You’re partners. Are they your bosses, managers, or are you friends? What kind of relationship is it?

– We are partners, we are friends. At the same time, they are people I respect without limits — both of them are teachers for me in certain areas. How does the public treat Vitali, those who don’t know him personally? Like, “oh, just a former boxer.” No — this is a man whose thinking works at a level many top-class specialists don’t even come close to.

He knows how to build things, how to plan ahead, how to gather the right people around him and keep them close — strengthening himself through them. His professional ego doesn’t stop him from trusting others. And at the same time, he is a very simple person with a remarkable sense of humor.

– So right now you’re the one fully managing this promotion? How involved are they in the process?

– When Vitali entered politics, he stepped away from the business. Wladimir and I run the business side. I believe that if either of them decided to return to the professional ring today, they wouldn’t hesitate to work with me — whether as a manager or as a promoter.
