Joshua Buatsi Becomes a Free Agent

British light‑heavyweight Joshua Buatsi has become a free agent. The promoter BOXXER, which represented the fighter, announced that his contract expired at the start of 2025.

“Joshua Buatsi’s promotional contract ended in late February. His last bout under the BOXXER banner was the fight against Callum Smith. Joshua Buatsi is a free agent. BOXXER wishes him success in the next stage of his career,” the statement read.

On 22 February, Joshua Buatsi (19‑1, 13 KOs) suffered the first defeat of his career, losing by unanimous decision to Callum Smith in a bout for the interim WBO light‑heavyweight title.
