Jake Criticized the Comparison to Ngannou: “His Feet Were Like They Were Stuck in the Mud”

American boxer and influencer Jake Paul explained why comparing the result of his next opponent, Anthony Joshua’s fight against Francis Ngannou, is not relevant to him.

“Yeah, that’s to be expected, right? But I’ve been the underdog my whole life. I’ve had to fight for everything I have, constantly earn my place, and honestly, some of my best performances have been exactly when I came in as the underdog. I don’t look at the betting odds at all—I know what I’m capable of and the work I’ve put in.

I don’t believe he is capable of landing those shots. He hits bigger, slower opponents who stand right in front of him. Everyone says, ‘Did you see what he did to Francis Ngannou?’ But that’s a man whose feet were like they were stuck in the mud—he just stood there, did nothing, and took a massive punch.

So yeah, if I take a punch like that—it’s over for me. But I don’t believe he can hit me like that,” Paul said.

The showdown between Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) and Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) will take place on December 19 in Miami. The result will go on the opponents' official professional records.
