Jai Opetaia challenges Mikaelian: “Now is the time to unify the titles”

IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia has challenged newly crowned WBC titleholder Noel Mikaelian in the same division.

“Now is the time to unify the titles. I’m the Ring and IBF champion. He’s the WBC champion. This is a fight that makes sense for boxing and for the cruiserweight division. The fans want to see who the real number one is, and I’m ready to prove it,” Opetaia said.

Reminder: On the night of December 14, Noel Mikaelian (28-3, 12 KOs) defeated Badou Jack by unanimous decision in their rematch to win the WBC cruiserweight title.

On December 6, Jai Opetaia (29-0, 23 KOs) knocked out Hussein Cinkara in the 8th round.
