Insider Dan Rafael has confirmed reports that Joseph Parker returned a positive VADA test for cocaine on the day of his fight with interim WBO Heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley.
“Reports that Joseph Parker failed a VADA test for cocaine before the Wardley fight — I’ve confirmed the information is accurate.
According to a source, he passed a VADA test the day before the fight. The failed test was collected on fight day. UKAD also tested him on fight day, and those results are still pending,” Rafael wrote.
Earlier it was reported that traces of cocaine were found in Parker’s system ahead of the bout with Wardley. VADA will now pass its findings to UKAD and the British Boxing Board of Control. Parker could face a two-year suspension.
