Iglesias Stops Shishkin, Extends KO Streak to Eight

IBO Super Middleweight Champion Osleys Iglesias, 27, successfully defended his title for the first time on September 4 in Montreal, Canada, stopping 34-year-old Russian Vladimir Shishkin via eighth-round TKO. The referee halted the contest after Iglesias unleashed a prolonged series of clean punches.

Iglesias captured the belt in fall 2024 when he stopped Ukrainian Petro Ivanov in the fifth round. Now the Cuban is the mandatory contender for the winner of the Canelo-Crawford fight under the IBF line.

With the win, Osleys Iglesias (14-0, 13 KOs) extended his knockout streak to eight straight. The last time he went the distance was in 2022, when he outpointed Isaac Chilemba.

Vladimir Shishkin (16-2, 10 KOs) suffered his second consecutive defeat to a Cuban fighter, following a loss to William Scull in his previous outing.
