According to BoxingScene, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) has officially sanctioned a Heavyweight eliminator between Daniel Dubois and Frank Sanchez.
The teams of both fighters have until October 22 to reach an agreement. If they fail to do so, the IBF will call for a purse bid.
Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) previously held the IBF title, which he lost in his last fight against Oleksandr Usyk.
Several fighters — including Filip Hrgovic, Efe Ajagba, and Moses Itauma — declined the opportunity to face Sanchez (25-1, 18 KOs).
The winner of the Dubois–Sanchez matchup will become the mandatory challenger for Oleksandr Usyk’s IBF belt.
