Gervonta Davis Arrested in Miami on Kidnapping and Battery Charges

WBA lightweight champion (in recess) Gervonta Davis was detained in Florida, in the Miami Design District, following a large-scale surveillance operation that covered three counties.

Police arrested the boxer on serious charges: battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping.

It is reported that Davis will be transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami. He is expected to appear before a Miami-Dade County judge shortly for a bond hearing.

Previously, Davis was declared wanted due to accusations of a violent attack and the kidnapping of his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, at her workplace. The case files mention strangulation, threats, and physical violence. Law enforcement was forced to conduct a search operation as the boxer was not found at his known residence.

The bail amount is currently set at $16,000.
