“With pleasure.” Fabio Wardley talks about a fight with Wilder

WBO heavyweight titleholder Fabio Wardley weighed in on the possibility of fighting former world champion Deontay Wilder.

“Wilder is a huge name. I’m already in the mix with guys like Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, and others. Of course, they’re at the tail end of their careers now, but to be standing alongside them is cool. And I’m at the level now where we can fight. We can make the fight happen, and I can add names like that to my résumé. So if Wilder is planning a return to the ring, then yeah — I’d take that fight with pleasure,” Wardley said.

In October, Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) stopped Joseph Parker via 11th-round TKO to win the interim WBO heavyweight title, and was soon elevated to full champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt.

Deontay Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) last fought in June, when he defeated Tyrrell Herndon by 7th-round TKO. Recently, the American said he is in talks for a fight with Usyk.
