Former world champion and current Golden Boy Promotions executive Oscar De La Hoya has explained why he believes former undisputed champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez should part ways with longtime trainer Eddy Reynoso.
“Find a new trainer. You’ll be better off. A new trainer will teach you new tricks.
Canelo can still have a few more elite-level fights with his strength and reflexes. He will refresh his style and turn into a new fighter,” De La Hoya said.
Reynoso has trained Canelo throughout his entire career. In his last fight, Saul Alvarez lost by unanimous decision to Terence Crawford.
