David Picasso: “I expected something tougher from Inoue”

The 25-year-old Mexican boxer David Picasso looked back on his fight against Japan’s undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue.

“It was a difficult fight and a very tough fight. Inoue was very explosive and very quick. However, I felt superior in some parts of the last rounds of the fight, but yeah, it was tough.

But I expected something tougher from Inoue – more explosive, more powerful … I don't feel defeated, but my dream still goes on to be a world champion. I will get ready and come back stronger,” Picasso said.

On 27 December, Naoya Inoue (32-0, 27 KOs) defeated David Picasso (32-1-1, 17 KOs) by unanimous decision. The judges scored it 120-108, 119-109 and 117-111 for the Japanese undisputed champion. Ready to Fight’s punch stats for the bout are available via the link.
