David Benavidez Stops Anthony Yarde Early

On November 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Ring IV boxing event took place, headlined by the WBC Light Heavyweight world title fight between American David Benavidez (31-0, 26 KOs) and Britain’s Anthony Yarde (27-4, 24 KOs).

The fight ended in the 7th round after a prolonged attack from Benavidez. The referee stepped in and stopped the bout — TKO 7.

This was Benavidez’s third fight in the Light Heavyweight division. In his previous two, he defeated Oleksandr Gvozdyk and David Morrell on points.

For Yarde, it was the third world title fight of his career; he had previously lost inside the distance to Sergey Kovalev and Artur Beterbiev.
