Undisputed Super Middleweight champion Terence Crawford shared his thoughts on Saul Alvarez’s punching power.
“I’ve felt stronger punches before. In a real fight… Honestly, Kavaliauskas hit harder than Canelo. His punch wasn’t as strong as I expected. Yes, he’s technical, but you know, I’ve been hit harder.
I think he was trying to stay competitive. But he respected my power, my boxing skills, and all that. I think what frustrated him most was that I blocked, caught, and countered every one of his big shots. That, to me, was the main reason for his frustration,” said Crawford.
On the night of September 14, Terence Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) defeated Canelo Alvarez (63-3-2, 39 KOs) by unanimous decision, becoming the first fighter in the four-belt era to be undisputed champion in three different weight classes. Full fight statistics are available via RTF.
Crawford fought Egidijus Kavaliauskas in December 2019, winning by ninth-round TKO.
