Newly crowned undisputed Super Middleweight champion Terence Crawford made it clear he has no plans to return to the Junior Middleweight division following his victory over Saul Alvarez. He also dismissed the idea of facing fellow American Jaron Ennis.
“No, I won’t fight Jaron Ennis. I’m not going back down to 154.
Move up to Light Heavyweight? No, we’re not going that high. Who knows, maybe I’ll go to Middleweight. I’ll sit down with my team, and we’ll decide what’s next.
Without a doubt, this is truly a remarkable victory. To move up two weight classes, to be the ‘B-side,’ to face a guy who was unbeaten in the division, an undisputed champion, to take all his titles, to deliver everything I said I would — of course, it means a lot. I felt everything was on the line,” said Crawford.
On the night of September 14, Terence Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) defeated Canelo Alvarez (63-3-2, 39 KOs) by unanimous decision, becoming the first fighter in the four-belt era to hold undisputed championships in three different weight classes.
On October 11, Jaron Ennis (34-0, 30 KOs) will face IBO Junior Middleweight champion Wisma Lima (14-1, 10 KOs).
