Cruiserweight boxer Huseyin Cinkara spoke about what he’s expecting in his clash with IBF Cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia.
“Listen, I respect Opetaia — he’s earned his place. But respect doesn’t win fights. Power wins fights. And I’m stronger than him. I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts dancing in the ring — I don’t think he wants to trade with me. I hit harder, I hit faster.
I’ve trained like I’m obsessed. Every morning, every sparring session, every drop of sweat — all for December 6. I’m not here to play the good guy — I’m here to take the belts.
Opetaia’s last opponent, Claudio Squeo, seemed too polite. I’m coming to knock out Opetaia in front of his own fans. I’m not asking for respect — I’m demanding it. And I’ll get it the only way I know how.
I know people are writing me off, but I’ll prove them wrong. I believe vulnerability exists — and I see the cracks. I see gaps in his armor. I’m not blind. On December 6, the belts will change hands,” said Cinkara.
Cinkara (23-0, 19 KO) and Opetaia (28-0, 22 KO) will meet on December 6 in Gold Coast, Australia. For Jai, it will be his third fight this year. In the previous two, he won in the fourth and fifth rounds.
