On 5 July in Manchester, United Kingdom, Jack Catterall (31-2, 13 KO) met Harlem Eubank (21-1, 9 KO) for the vacant WBA International and IBF Inter-Continental welterweight titles (limit 66.7 kg).
The bout ended early: in the sixth round the fighters clashed heads, opening a cut on Catterall that prompted the referee to halt the contest. The judges’ scorecards decided the winner—69-65 and two scores of 69-66 for Catterall. TD-U 7.
It was the first defeat of Harlem Eubank’s career. For Jack Catterall, the result erases his February loss to Arnold Barboza.
