WBC Middleweight champion Carlos Adames has revealed that he is in the final stage of negotiations for a unification bout against WBO and IBF titleholder Janibek Alimkhanuly.
“We’ve been chasing this for a long time and couldn’t get the deal done, but the fight is happening. We’re working to make it next. The deal is practically finalized,” Adames told Fernando Sabatini on Twitter.
Carlos Adames (24-1-1, 18 KOs) last stepped into the ring in February, when he fought to a draw against Hamzah Sheeraz.
In April, Janibek Alimkhanuly (17-0, 12 KOs) defeated Anauel Ngamissengue by technical knockout in the fifth round.
