Canelo Requires Elbow Surgery

The return to the ring of former undisputed Super Middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has been postponed indefinitely.

According to The Ring insider Mike Coppinger, Canelo needs elbow surgery following his bout with Terence Crawford.

The Mexican’s next fight was expected to take place in February in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but it has been postponed as Alvarez will require more time to recover. The 35-year-old still has two fights remaining under his contract with Riyadh Season.

On September 13, Canelo Alvarez (63-3-2, 39 KOs) lost by unanimous decision to Terence Crawford, surrendering his undisputed championship.
